Tour of Denmark 7/5-7/7 - Odense, Aarhus, Skagen, Aalborg, Billund

This past weekend I went on a bus tour of Denmark with ISUP. Our tour took us to some of Denmark's most popular sights outside of the capital and left me with a better impression of the country.

407 islands comprise Denmark.
We left Copenhagen at 7:30am on Friday and headed towards Odense. Odense is the third largest city in Denmark and is most famous for being the hometown of Hans Christian Andersen. H.C. as he is referred to by the Danes, is the author behind familiar fairytales such as The Ugly Duckling, The Little Mermaid, and The Princess and the Pea. On our guided walking tour, we saw many tributes to the author all over town. We went to the H.C. Andersen Museum and visited the small house where he was born.
H.C. Andersen was also a talented paper cutter.

Grenen - the Northern most part of Denmark. It was about 65 degrees fahrenheit and the Danes were out like it was Hawaii.

Standing in both the Baltic and North Seas :)

11:45pm in Aalborg, still light out.

Lego is a Danish Company. Lego is derived from the Danish phrase leg godt, which means "play well"
